Skipping Spring and Straight To Sept.

Looks like it's going to warm up to the temps of the few days of hot weather we normally get in Aug/Sept around here.

There's just never any happy medium! From 50 odd to 90 in one day.

THIS SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT WILL SERVE AS AN EXCESSIVE HEAT
OUTLOOK FOR THE ENTIRE SAN FRANCISCO AND MONTEREY BAY REGION FOR
THE PERIOD THURSDAY THROUGH FRIDAY.

A RECORD BREAKING HEAT EVENT IS EXPECTED TO BE UNDERWAY THURSDAY
AND FRIDAY AS A STRONG RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE DEVELOPS OVER THE WEST
COAST.

TEMPERATURES ON THURSDAY MORNING ARE EXPECTED TO START OUT VERY
MILD...MAINLY IN THE 60S WITH 70S IN THE HILLS AND THEN RISE TO
RECORD BREAKING LEVELS FOR MANY CITIES BY THURSDAY AFTERNOON. HIGHS
AT THE COAST WILL EVEN APPROACH 90 DEGREES WITH MOST INLAND AREAS
WELL INTO THE 90S AND NEAR 103. LITTLE OVERALL CHANGE IS EXPECTED
ON FRIDAY WITH NEAR OR RECORD BREAKING HEAT EXPECTED TO CONTINUE.


It will be a miserable few days since I can't have the windows open at night living on the ground floor.

I know exactly how you feel. I live on the ground floor also and I do not have an air conditioning unit anywhere in the apartment. We are allowed to have them, so I may seriously debate buying a window unit. Last summer nearly killed me!

Air conditioning is pretty much non existent here in Monterey. It just never stays hot long enough to be useful. Other than the movie theater and the big box stores and such, of course. Nin's buying an extra fan, before they sell out all over the Peninsula over the next two days [g]

They are calling for a hard freeze for the counties just north of here.

I must take in the hanging baskets I picked up for Mothers Day and it is mid-May. What is this fimble winter?
