ithildin: (Taste - Tea)
I bought a sample of Pu Erh tea since I'd been hearing so much about it. Pu is right! It smells wretched and tastes like river mud, as opposed to you know, normal mud [g]

I think this is an acquired taste I'll pass on!

Must go make normal tea now to remove flavour.

Ewww. Does it look like river mud? :\

What's it supposed to do, anyway?

It's just another type of tea, but until recently only really found in China for the most part. It does have a very muddy colour that's a red/black sorta shade.

Huh, those brick like tea? I think I have some at home. Aren't you supposed to keep them for like, 50 years and then sell them for a million bucks or something? Maybe I should go dig mine out and try it. Mum brought it back from China.

This is actually loose tea leaves. But I have seen the blocks you speak of! I think it's supposed to be extra fermented than the usual black tea.

See, the fact that it looks like mud would make me not want to drink it. Granted, I do like black tea, but it's... you know... black.

But hey, you've tried it, so you can at least say you don't like it.

Now the only thing left for me to try is White Tea.

I've tried white tea, and I don't like it. There's an after-taste that's kinda icky. That might just be me, though.

That's why I love samples!

I love white tea. I've been having them every day for the last few months. Twinning's white tea. It's better than having regular tea in the sense that I drink at least 6 cups of it a day, and since you don't have to add sugar to it, reduces the sugar intake and not rot my teeth, or something. ;)

Hmm... no clue. Mum got them off some distant relatives I've never met before in China. *shrug*
