Memphis

Have talked it over with ninjababe, and we've decided that since we've paid over half our membership fee so far, and it's non refundable, it would be silly not to go to the actual con itself. So, looks like we're going! Memphis itself was always on, just wasn't too sure about the event itself.

We're probably in the minority, but whether there's a new guest or not doesn't really matter. I was going for Peter and for friends, and I still have the friends part, and Peter isn't really replaceable, nor can I really think of anyone I'd want to see. So whoever the new guest is won't play a factor in the decision to attend. Only RL will do that! As usual. Hey, if there's no new guest, we can just do our own panels and Q&A's from the ranks of the attendees! A do-it-yourself con :)

There is still a chance Peter might show up, you know. There was one other con where he had to cancel, but then showed up at the last minute.

It really depends on his schedule with Holby City. From what I undestand it's a large cast and it rotates quite a bit - so maybe he will be getting some unexpected time off.

However the guests roll out, do have a great time in Memphis, lots of music, fen and friends--sometimes the energy of the unexpected makes everything more fun...!

Me too! I've just been feeling like I shouldn't be spending money on this trip at all, so my residual guilt was kicking in there for a bit :) But hell, you only live once, and as Nin keeps telling me, we really need a vacation. We may even bring the Sombrero of Power! [g]

I'm guessing I missed the morning briefing? Peter's NOT going to be in Memphis? Ah, well, neither am I. When I found out that Memphis was sold out, I was seriously bummed (still am a little.) Every time that I had enough set aside to at least reserve a spot, RL would reach out and slap me upside the head, then sneak away with my stash. Vancouver's still a distant possibility, but I still have to get the bankruptcy proceedings completed before anything else.

I really need to go on vacation!

No, because of his new job in the UK, he won't be able to be there. I didn't think I'd be able to go, and won't actually believe it till I'm there, so I know how you feel.
