Poor JD gets a magic sling!
Love the without a backward glance kick Ezra uses on the bad guy.
The whole Purgatorio sequence is great.
Serape of doom! The orange one.

Date: 2009-06-10 07:12 pm (UTC)From:also, i love the way the ep is shot. apparently someone got a new camera boom... which makes for some interesting shots. when the boys come out of the church to look for olivia... outside shots of the town...
also love some of the shots in the church... like when josiah is talking to olivia, the whole scene is shot (as well as most of the interior shots of the ep) through stuff... like under the pew, through the slats on the chairs, through the windows...
and some long takes... not a lot of cuts... i'm thinking particularly about the scene where JD brings olivia the doll... very long one shot. really liked it.
and the derringer pop!! the green eyes!! awesome!
and poor JD!! he rightly earned himself a magic sling.
i believe ezra's jacket was red.
and ezra definitely calls buck by his first name... like when the gang rides back into town.
on a side note... the guy that played coltraine in this episode was just on this week's ep of burn notice. :D
i'm gonna rewatch this ep when i get home from work... i might add some more but them's me thought's for now. :D

Date: 2009-06-10 08:27 pm (UTC)From:"Safecracker" is a terrific episode which I enjoy very much. I enjoy watching the interaction between Ezra and Olivia and the protectiveness of the seven toward her. I also like Chris being protective of both Vin and Buck. Poor Buck has to be shot though. I laugh everytime Buck rises from that coffin and snatches his things back. Also like the part where Buck is sitting outside the cantina with the big sombrero on and looks up as Chris comes out. The scene where Buck and Ezra rescue Olivia is great too.
As for Stats:
Number of times Chris laughs: none that I recall
Colour of Ezra's coat: Red
Number of appearances by the 'Serape of Doom': Pretty much throughout the episode starting in the scene in which he and Vin go after Buck and Terri Greer.
Times Ezra uses someone's first name: three
Josiah 'son' & 'brother' count:
Times Chris isn't dressed all in black: four
Times Vin eats: none that I recall

Date: 2009-06-10 09:02 pm (UTC)From:I love how the bad guys outfits sort of mirror the Seven's. Coltraine is all in black, there's someone with a funny hat, another with nattier clothes and I'm pretty sure someone with a necklace. They're walk at the beginning after blowing the other gang member up is a bit reminiscent of our boys too.
Olivia's feistiness is so cool. Her 'What's a cufflink?' and the face she makes after is cute and her expression when JD hands her a doll? Perfect :)
Chris and Buck's little scene in Purgatorio is wonderful. Clearly they've done something like this before (I'd love a backstory fic about that!) and Chris has absolutely no doubt that Buck will organise everything back at town.
Of course I love Ezra's scene in the saloon, don't you love the other three in the background? His interactions with Olivia and the three fast draws, just push all my Ezra buttons!
