So now that the authours for the Highlander holiday fic exchange have been revealed, I can share my amusement. I betaed amonitrate's story, though I didn't know who it was for. Then the stories went up, and I saw it was for pat_t, which was cool. But the amusing part? I saw it was listed as slash. I hadn't realized it was slash when I betaed it, you see. So I had quite the giggle when I realized I'd betaed a slash story for pat_t of all people! Not to mention her reaction [g] I've been waiting oh so patiently for the reveal so I could share!

Oh - you're too funny. You didn't know it was for me? When Tray beta'd mine, I asked her to look at my receiver's post to make sure it woule be suitable for what she asked for *g*.

I'm sure you didn't read mine though. I'm afraid you wouldn't have any problems figuring out it was slash. It had het in it too though.

I haven't read any of the stories, other than the two I betaed - and I'm still amazed I got that done!

In all seriousness, a slasher can read slash in many stories even if it isn't explicit unless the story is designed to absolutely exclude the possibility of a relationship. I kid Tray because she never writes sex - she just implies or fades out. Not that I kid her about that, she's so talented. What I kid her about is betaing my explicit scenes because I tell her she closes her eyes during those scenes *g*.

ROTFL!! I used to close my eyes when I wrote sex scenes [snicker] Hard to explain, but I'd sort of dissociate myself from what I was wrting and was always surprised when I went back and read the results [g]

LOL that's brilliant so many stories are tottally open to interpretation. I tend to assume my favourite pairings if there's any hint of it in the story.

Stealth slash indeed. That's funny! I don't remember if I changed anything after you beta-ed to make it more slashy or not, but since it was mostly about the banter, the slash wasn't really the focus.

heh. I'm mostly a gen girl, but I've been known to stick in a bit of slash when writing for a slash fan recipient.
