Decided to try out another new chiropractor after my horrible experience in the spring. I just am at the end of my rope pain wise. The neck/eye pain has been so bad, it keeps me from functioning at work. I'm not sleeping, with the addition of my usual 'hip when I fell off the ladder pain'. I think he's going to help, but I'm always suspicious - ask Nin. So, the visit blew out was left of my HSA, and then some. Which leads me to....
We're going away tomorrow. We'd blocked off this time last year, but plans fell through, but never actually canceled the days. Then
tequilajen made us an offer we can't refuse, and now, we're driving to Cali tomorrow to stay with them thru the holiday. How much I love them is proven by the fact I HATE the drive thru Mojave Desert, extra hate in the summer. But this time, instead of doing the whole 12 hours in one day, we're stopping in glorious downtown Yermo! Yes, you can be jealous. And that leads to....
Working half a day tomorrow, hoping the muzzy pain side effect of the chiro exam has worn off. Making myself eat dinner, even though I don't want to. Still need to pack. Been up since 4:30am.
And last, but not least, thank you everyone who has left comments on the latest part of White As Snow! Was absolutely tickled to see them in my inbox.

Boxing Day 2012
Dec. 26th, 2011 11:32 amToday, finally, I think, we're going to go see Sherlock Holmes [crosses fingers]
Dinner turned out quite well, this despite the fact we had to use the gas grill again, since the oven part is backordered till the New Year, and despite the fact the propane tank ran out part way through cooking. Really awesome gravy, if I do say so myself. My brother reminded me he had the immersion blender to take lumps out, and I was scandalized. I told him there would be no lumps in my gravy! LOL One bummer was that mum came down with the stomach bug of doom about two hours before dinner. Talk about crappy timing. I have a pot of turkey soup on currently so she'll have something to eat when she's feeling up to it.
Coolest gift ever: reproduction antique door knob from Nin! I love antique door knobs, and have wanted one for ever. even bought a heavy wooden door for my room a few years ago for a future one. Course, bro's never put the door up for me, but will have to do it now. Need to look into getting some hinges and hooks to match.
Xmas TV: had time to watch one thing last night, either Doctor Who or Downton Abbey Christmas special. Downton won. We'll watch DW tonight.

This and That
Dec. 22nd, 2011 06:15 pmI know I've been spotty on replying to comments, but just the energy to post lately is about all I can muster. Hopefully will improve next year.
Still trying to shake this off. If I could just eat something more than a few bites of toast, I think I'd feel much better. But no such luck. Yesterday, dinner tasted like that homemade playdough mum used to make when I was a kid. UGH.
More people down at work today with the same thing. Which made the day even more exhausting. Thank goodness tomorrow, we close early.
Kind of sad, seeing all the excitement over fic exchanges and such - been a couple years since I've felt any fannish glee over such things. I vaguely recall the feeling. Ah well, time marches on, I guess.
We still haven't seen Sherlock Holmes, due to illness. Maaaybe tomorrow night, if I'm feeling up to it.
It seems to be that time to state Dreamwidth intentions again: in my case, no change. I post here, I backup my LJ on Dreamwidth, and use it if LJ is down for any given period of time. Don't foresee that changing in the near future. I'm ithildin there - no Y
I'll be back later if I forgot something.
