Okay, so I probably can't answer all the comments related to the Facebook/Twitter fiasco, so post instead!
I do not have Facebook, never will. Way too stalkerish for me. I do, however, have Twitter, which is under the same name as here. If you feel compelled to do the crosspost comment thing, I have no objections. On PUBLIC posts, of course. If you break the friends lock sanctity, we're going to have issues. On the other hand, I think this has been an absolutely stupid move on LJ's part, and they seriously need to give everyone the option of disabling those stupid crosspost buttons, and/or modify them based on post security settings. Do these people not do the simplest research before implementing their kooky ideas?

Facebook had settings (and other sites have done this as well) where they automatically set this stuff for you and you have to find your security settings to *disable* what they are doing.
