Merlin Thoughts

Series 3, repeat 2 and 1. The same thing that really grates on me from the first two continues on in 3, namely how Arthur treat Merlin. He's a prat, a jerk, and a acts like a bratty five year old. Their relationship, if that's even a word for it, is the weak point in the series for me. If Arthur showed any growth or change, it would be one thing, but he doesn't. Well, there's still Morgana, Gwen and Merlin. But I want to have an Arthur too, so I shall grumble.

YES. I am so sick of Arthur STILL treating Merlin the way he does. It's been over two years, shouldn't he have done some kind of growing up by now? Makes me want Arthur to finally be awake or looking in the right direction when Merlin SAVES HIS STUPID ASS one of these days. God, what an asshole. That's what I kept saying the whole time Arthur was being a dick.

The treatment of Arthur in Merlin would be the single biggest reason I can't muster the enthusiasm for the show I see from friends, and my mother. I am a big fan of Arthuriana. I want to like the show. I sort of like Merlin, Uther (okay that's mostly because he's played by ASH, but) and Morgana. However, Gwen doesn't engage me and by the end of first season I hated their treatment of Arthur. I couldn't be bothered to give the second season a try when I heard there was no change from second. I've done more than enough sticking with shows longer than was fun lately. People want me to watch Merlin they can let me know when the treatment of Arthur on the show changes.

Ith, thank you for these. Just finished watching season 1. It was good. Went ot get season two and found out it will not be released until next month. So downloading season 3 to watch after I buy and watch season 2.
