ithildin: (Vintage - Lady America)
I voted this morning before work, the first time I've voted 'live' in something like twenty years. In CA, I always voted absentee. Guys, they have these computer gizmos now to vote on! Ooooh Ahhhhh [boggles] [g] Actually, I was surprised that our tiny rural town had the touchscreens. So small, I was the only person registered to vote in town whose last name starts with 'U' - that amused me and the poll lady.

Our elections were a month ago, and they just published the final results today, and they still left out an entire canton. There were some accusations about tampering, so voting will be repeated there. It's such a sham that more and more people are becoming disillusioned with the process and indeed, with he whole concept of democracy. Demands for breaking up the country have never been stronger, and there's some really ugly threats being thrown about.

I'm sorry to hear that.

Same here, over the last several years elections have become complete circus... The general resentment is growing, and sometimes I'm really glad I don't have kids yet:(.

:( I know what you mean. Who would want to bring children into such uncertainty?
