I really hate it when they upgrade a program you use, but do it in such a way that it's like trying to learn how to use a whole new program! I had to get X3 od Paintshop since the older version I ran before didn't work on a 64 bit system. I found a cheap copy on Ebay and it came in yesterday. GAH!!! I don't like it, and I haven't even really used it yet. Just figuring out the new interface took me several hours. And I've been using PSP since 1996, so it shouldn't be that hard.

Ack, it is horrible when that happens.

Since you've paid for it, I suppose you'd best persevere. Otherwise I would have recommended trying Gimp, which is free, if you were going to start using a whole new program.

I've used GIMP, but it didn't do all the things I wanted it to. Well, at least the one I used 5 odd years back didn't. I did manage to make one icon, and discovered that a lot of the stuff I've always used most is the same, so that's something.

A lot of the new upgraded software is different from the usual.

Every version I've used has been slightly different, but this one took the cake.

*nods* I agree with you.

I'm using PSP-X on a new computer with this year's new Windows OS, and while it can't handle the new Win OS graphics, and they all switch off every time I open the program, at least it didn't require "compatibility mode" like all my other favorite applications. :-) Were you using X before and are now at X3, or were you using a pre-X system? If you were pre-X and have just now met X, can I be of any help?
