Highlander Season One

The Hunters, Air Date: May 1993

MacLeod's old compatriot Hugh Fitzcairn comes to town bearing a mystery -- some of their other Immortal friends have disappeared suspiciously. MacLeod realizes that someone may be following Fitz, and realizes too late that Fitz has put Darius in danger by visiting him. Finding Darius dead in his chapel and Fitzcairn kidnaped, MacLeod won't rest until he finds the men responsible. Tracking the killers of his old friend, MacLeod discovers that there is a band of mortals hunting Immortals, and even holy ground is no protection from them. MacLeod finds the renegades in time to save Fitzcairn and confront James Horton, leader of the Hunters, but Horton eludes his grasp. ~ recap and quotes via tv.com

That was what I wanted the Helm with a gun cap for. I just got sidetracked and remembered tonight I hadn't actually made it yet [g]

The line is from a piece on Brad Paisley's 'Mud on the Tires' called 'Spaghetti Western' at the Kung Pao Theater, and it's like a little radio play.

I love the icon too. Mischief was telling me about it last night.

The Hunters. I love this show. We have Darius and Fitz. We find out about the Watchers. I would love for them to put The Hunters and The Watchers on one dvd like they did the other two part stories. (Finale, Counterfit, Unholy Alliance) and often wonder why they didn't. They are a natural together as one movie.

It's absolutely heartbreaking when Duncan finds Darius' body. Just the first of many heartbreaking moments for Duncan MacLeod.

Thanks :) Mischief? On the phone? The quiet one? Naaaaah! LOL

It's been awhile since I've seen the episode, but I do remember that particular scene and how heartbreaking it was.

omg, now I'm picturing Dunkie's heart as a glass heart that's only held together by duct tape because it's been broken so often. So kitsch! *sighs*

Apart from the fun icon... *g*

The epi was THE turning point, imho, that saved the series from a sudden and insignificant death, because without the Watchers and their mix of often diametrally opposed opinions, it would always have been more or less about the Immortal of the day, or the friend in danger of the day.
I agree. Adding the Watchers was a brilliant stroke, and gave the show another level that it hadn't had before.

I agree this is a great episode, introducing the Watchers really helped the series, and the angst and friendship shown between Duncan/Fitz and Duncan/Darius was great -- one of my fave non-Methos eps, in other words.

But, seriously, Duncan's fist-clenched scream when he found Darius's body?? Oy. I blame the director for refusing to depart from whatever vision he had in his head eve when it became clear it was so not working.
