Pillaged from [livejournal.com profile] strangevisitor7. Timely, as I was saying yesterday, people participating in the polls, I don't know a lot of them, so this is my chance to get to know you [insert evil chuckle]

Hey Flist!
Some of you I know extremely well(you know who you are) but others I know very little about. But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...she likes office supplies." I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. (Yes, even you people who I know really well.) Then post this in your own journal. In return, ask me anything you'd like to know about me and I'll give you an answer.

I'll add my own bit to this: even if you haven't friended me, but read my LJ, you can play too [g]

I'd get a degree in something like Anglo Saxon studies, or ancient European civilization [g]

I replied to [livejournal.com profile] strangevisitor7 and will tell you here. I have a degree in mortuary science. Of course, I'm doing nothing with it in terms of a job, but it does make watching shows like CSI interesting because I understand the science.

Also, some that might be a bit obvious, but I have a thing for Welshmen. My husband, Peter Wingfield, Ioan Gruffudd, Gareth David-Lloyd...all Welshmen I find tasty. :)

Hmmm... I'm working on a master's degree in higher education and student affairs, which is a pretty broad field that includes things like academic advising, managing residence halls, and advising student organizations. I'm taking one class at a time while working full-time, so it'll probably be 2-3 more years before I finish the degree.

I've followed you as a fan of HL fiction for a while, although I mainly just read NCIS fic now. I have a BS in Public Relations, then went back for a Master of Arts in Teaching. Thanks to the economy changing, I'm wondering why I ever did it. Teaching jobs are rare, schools are laying off, and I am currently subbing in several school districts.

Let's see, I love to read, love to hit the coffee shop, and am taking a couch to 5K class in running. I'm signed up for two 5Ks this spring, and hope to complete a 10K later this year at the Air Force Marathon.

My question....hmmmmmm. Darn, I can't think of any right now!

Well as everyone appears to be sharing their qualifications - I have a lovely useless joint hons MA degree in English-Philosophy and a diploma in Shakespeare Studies.

I'm also a bit obsessed with rubber stamps/stamping. :)

Might as well add my own degree into this. I have an Associate's Degree in Applied Science, with a major in Office Systems. Which...oddly...around here leaves me overqualified for most jobs I apply for.

I have spent the last week up to the gills in rubbing alcohol, bleach and vinegar. I also drank a whole lot of apple cider vinegar trying to get rid rid of this bug. I've come to the conclusion that I like apple cider vinegar and am now wondering if Nin can figure out how to make a tasty drink with it.

ROTFL!

She probably could.

First, I'm pretty sure you can get apple cider vinegar capsules... probably at a nutritional store.

Second, with the help of Ith, I have come up with a drink!

Granted, I'll need to make it in Real Life [tm] in order to get the actual levels right. I own all the ingredients but one, and I could get that at a grocery store...

But, I'm thinking this:

1 shot Apple Cider vinegar
1 shot Calvados (Apple Brandy)
A splash of cinnamon schnappes

Pour over ice in a large glass, fill glass with cloudy apple cider (the good stuff...).

That should do it.

Now, what to call it... Hmmm... The Conjured Apple?

:) on one of the Halloween episodes of The Simpsons they opened with a Tales From the Crypt parody and I thought "oh, so Elfman STILL did the intro" one of those "you know you're a fan when-" moments ha

Yep I've had those moments too - sitting in a movie and liking the music and wondering if it was his because it had that "elfman sound"

What don't you know about me...I played clarinet in the georgia tech marching band - the single best experience of my college career. It was a blast and we got to go to the NCAA basketball tournament. I still pull the horn out to play with Brett and we have little concerts together.

I was in choir at Penn Sate but that wasn't nearly as much fun (wasn't good enough to make the PSU band)

any old thing at all?

My favorite superhero has been the Scarlet Witch ever since I read Marvel Team-Up Annual #5 when I was, like, six or seven or eight or nine. :-)

I forge metal and make jewelry for a living; but am learning to paint portraits in oil and modify My Little Ponies for fun.

I walked into a class completely soaking wet and took them to see my sculpture I'd just sunk in a creek.

I read faster than anyone I know.

I have an international diploma in Administration and Foreign Languages - but work as a research assistant ^^ I'm obsessed with vampires (the ones that actually spill blood and feed on humans btw *lol*) and fast cars. I seem to have a soft spot for Finnish musicians (HIM, Nightwish, Sunrise Avenue, The Rasmus, Lovex etc.) and I love visiting the USA as often as possibele *g*

In return, ask me anything you'd like to know about me and I'll give you an answer.
If you were to live in a foreign country, where would that be?

My surname is Trick which apparently comes from the French for 'traitor' because a couple of hundred years ago one of my ancestors betrayed the English to the French (being Welsh, I really don't mind that!) and was given a Duchy in Canada. It's a nice story, but I wonder if a family would really take on the name 'traitor'! But I like the story, it adds a certain romance and adventure to my otherwise fairly dull and eventless family.

On my mother's side of the family, my great-great-grandfather was one of the leaders of the miners that marched on Downing Street back in the early 1900's for mine reforms. Parliament's answer? Well, a certain young politician by the name of Winston Churchill decided that the best solution was to send the army to attack them.

I love all kinds of music, especially instrumentals and movie scores, but I have a lousy memory when it comes to the names of the composers.

Family history mentioned by another commenter made me think of this tidbit: there's a part of my hometown that carries the name of my family, who used to own it before WWII and the nationalization undertaken by the state. There are now buildings, houses and a school where there were only a few houses and large orchards. It's still a beautiful place to live, and I miss it terribly.

I do cg-art, using 3D tools to make 2D pics -- my gallery's here (http://kickair8p.deviantart.com/gallery/#). Although I originally got into it to make bases for photo-maniping, with a couple rare exceptions I never got back into that.

My favorite color's green (see icon), but I'm a bit picky -- only warm greens, I'm not that fond of cold colors. Or cold, period.

Current fav fandom is BBC's Sherlock.

I'm a crafter: sewing, cross-stitch, loom knitting, masks, etc. I'd dearly love to carve a carousel horse some day.
