Just one episode of course, but I really enjoyed it! It looks and feels like the Arthur legend that I see in my mind's eye. And the cinematography and set design is wonderful. Looking forward to seeing more! Speaking of which, I see it starts on Starz in April, and I just remembered we have Starz for a year free as an anniversary promotion from DishNetwork, so yay!

I've heard a few reviews and am interested in trying it out. You'll have to report on the next few eps!

Glad you liked it. I gave it a try and was disappointed. It was nice seeing Sean Pertwee, James Purefoy and Philip Winchester in it, but from the IMDb most of them won't be there for more than another episode or two. If I give the show some more time it'll be for Peter Mooney's Kai more than anything. Mostly what Camelot did was make me appreciate Merlin more. I much prefer Bradley James' Arthur and Katie McGrath's Morgana to Jamie Campbell Bower's Arthur and Eva Green's Morgan. Course I've disliked Eva Green since I first saw her play Vesper Lind in Casino Royale. I wish I'd found the Merlin in Camelot more intriguing. I mean I like Joseph Fiennes okay, not as much as Ralph but, and his Merlin is an older one than Colin Morgan's. The writing just didn't grab me.

I had just the opposite reaction - it reminded me of why I find 'Merlin' annoying a lot of the time.

Heh. Well, I got the impression one of the problems I'm going to have with Camelot, if I can stick with it, is the same as one of my problems with Merlin. It's Arthurian legend, but both shows seem to be centered on Merlin. I might like Bradley James' Arthur more than Jame Campbell Bower's, but I can't say as I'd much care to follow either of them. Much as I liked Kai best in Camelot, my favorite character in Merlin is Gawain. It's not a great sign for a telling of the tale when my favorite characters don't include Arthur or Merlin.

It will be interesting to see if it ends up being Merlin-centric. I really loved Kai though.

They introduced him before Morgana or Arthur, and had him setting much of the narrative which is why I was disappointed with the writing for him. I know it isn't Joseph, it's the writing, because I know Joseph.

I really loved Kai though.

I approve of Kai love! :D
