We don't rent a movie in months, then we do two in one night! Got my long HDMI cable in so I can view the Amazon steaming on my TV, and watched the BBC 'Yellowstone' documentary. It was absolutely gorgeous! Then we decided to get a PPV movie from Dish and settled on 'Due Date' with Robert Downey Jr. - errr.... let's just say it wasn't my sort of movie. Then we decided to try out the Vudu service that came with the BluRay player since we got one free rental with it, and watched 'Taken', the Liam Neeson film. That one we enjoyed a great deal more. Being a person of an earlier generation, I find myself absolutely tickled by the fact I can just pick a movie on my TV screen and instantly watch it. I may not have got that flying car we were promised, but it's pretty darn nifty nonetheless! I remember when VCRs first appeared on the scene, and you had to rent the actual VCR the movie since VCRs were really expensive when they fist came out. What a difference a few decades make!

omg I haven't thought of that in *years*

I totally remember bringing home the rental vcr in the padded bag, and hooking it up to the tv to watch the movie!

And the VCR was the size of a suitcase and toploaded. At least the one we used to rent was! Ah, happy days. We truly live in an age of wondrous scientific advancement :)
