ithildin: (Taste - Taste of Summer)
And since it finally seems to be sticking, today was go the nursery day! I got two types of raspberries and a boysenberry. Also got a much taller Quaking Aspen than I was able to find last year, so this one I'll offset behind the tiny ones from last year. Also got an assortment of perennials and annuals, both seeds and plants.

I just love Quaking Aspens!

Picked me up a dwarf Butterfly Bush for my pots.

Me too. I love the sound they make when the wind blows through them. Can't wait till they're established and big enough to!

Not just that wonderful sound, I just love to watch the flutter of the leaves too.

I remember in Bothell, there was long wild stands of them out where my Grandma lived and I could watch and listen to them for hours.

And we got snow yesterday. None of it stuck.

I know it was snow, because I had to go out in it to check on whether the "red thing" on the pool cover was a dead cardinal. Nope, just a leaf.

We had snow again on Monday morning, 2" worth. All melted by evening. I got no pictures. The NWS page is here (http://www.crh.noaa.gov/news/display_cmsstory.php?wfo=grr&storyid=66840&source=0).

This evening, during the thunderstorms, we had hail. About 1/4" size. Lots of it. Enough to cover the patio out back and make the cars look like they had been snowed on. Pictures up some time tomorrow evening. (Actually this evening as it is past midnight here now.)
