As Memphis Drifts A Little Further Away

The truck didn't pass smog. That's all I know so far. If it didn't, the mechanic was talking fuel injectors, which sounds ominous to my bank account. The final payment for Road Trip is due Friday. I guess push come to shove, I'll know Friday if we're really going to be able to go or not. Keep your fingers crossed.

Did you have anything repaired on the truck in the last year? Sometimes cars won't pass Smog after repairs because the computer has to reset itself. It will reset itself after being driven a certain amount of miles.

Also, you can get extension stickers from the DMV - so you have time to have the problem investigated and fixed.

Yeah, we've done the reset thing. It's actually gotten better since the repairs he did after it didn't pass the first time. When it din't pass the second time, though it came in lower, we did the 100 mile drive, then it went back for the third time today. Don't know if there was an improvement or not at this point.

We have the money for the the last con payment, it's just me tryiing to cut my losses if need be. I doubt I'd be able to resell our memberships at this point, so I'm trying to only be out what I've paid so far, not the whole shebang if it comes to it.

As I said to Mischief last night, I'm lucky I have the money for repairs, and I'm grateful for that. It's just that it was money I'd wanted to spend elsewhere :) But the practical has to come before the fun, that's just a reality.

But I'll try not and borrow trouble till I get the damage from the mechanic, hopefully today.

I agree with Pat. You need to be in Memphis. I will also keep all appendages crossed that this is a minor thing. Maybe if you guys drive another 100 miles that will help. Cars really do need to be opened up on the highways every now and again to clean out the exhaust and engine.
