ithildin: (AS Misc - Not Amused MIOBI)
I hate the new Yahoo mail. In their desire to be like Gmail, they've ruined what I liked about them. For months, they gave you the option of using the old or the new, but a few weeks back, it was new or nothing. I hate that each email you click on opens in a new tab, and that my inbox/folders defaults to the first page instead of the last. So far, I haven't found a way to make it not do that.

My tags on LJ no longer autofill. Not sure if it's the new version of Firefox or the new version of LJ add-on. I was never sure where the autofill originated in the first place. But wherever it came from, I miss it.

My keyboard! The keys don't press in smoothly, they're lopsided. I'm not the best typist at the best of times, but this makes it worse. Usually Logitech makes a great product, but the keyboard keys on their newer keyboards need work.

Gmail doesn't open email in a new tab:).
Wrong keyboard annoys greatly, I know:(. Though sometimes you get used to it:).

No, I meant all the changes they seemed to think they needed to make. I think it's flash based, or something like that. Though at least Yahoo isn't doing the threaded thing. It's the reason I loathe Gmail. It just feels Gmailish.

I think you can get email to open in a window below or next to the mail list, like it does in hotmail. It's when you double click that it gets opened in a new tab - well, at least for me. I don't remember what setting I chose to get this, but I can look once I have some extra ti,e.

I've been through the options and haven't found anything I like (not that the offer many options) I'm not a fan of the preview pane, but it may be preferable to the way it is now.

I suppose I shouldn't gripe about something that's free, but I've been happy with them for 15 years - why screw it up?

I haven't checked out any of my Yahoo mail accounts in a while, so I'm not aware of how the new changes work. I do remember getting an email about the new changes and dreading them. I like gmail, even the threads, unless I don't like them. ;)

The change in tag autofill is not just Firefox. I'm having the same issue and I'm on chrome. It's annoying that it's gone.

I guess it must be LJ then. I really miss the autofill tags.

I do not like this 'upgrade,' if that's what they are calling it. Bring back our autofill tags. :/

I searched the support forums and found other people had opened tickets on the issue, so hopefully we'll get it back soon.

I thought I was probably the only one who disliked the new Yahoo mail. Much of the time, I can't open up an email, as the site is having "problems"......

Same here, it just whirls away to itself and never opens the mail.

HATE the new Yahoo mail. I have 2 yahoo accounts, but the second one hasn't been forced to switch yet. I usually check that one second, to get the bad taste of the new one out of my mouth. Also, the new one freezes on me a lot.

I have Yahoo mail, and I'm pretty sure I'm using the new version. Have you tried clicking on Options, and then "Show all messages in a scrolling list (with Preview Pane option)"?

I also miss the LJ autofill, and I've been having major problems with the text editor, especially when I switch back and forth from Rich Text to HTML.

Thank you for verbalizing how I feel about the new and improved Yahoo mail system.
It reminds me of dealing with the new and improved edition of PDF which I finally dumped.
I called CompuTek who built my computer and they told me I was their fifth call about it.
Basically,
If it ain't broke, then you don't fix it
PERIOD

Finally, I love how Firefox is always blamed.
