Yipes!

After weeks of being skirted by storms, we just got clobbered. Have unplugged TV and computer and are watching the rivers that used to be our streets. The wind gusted so hard, it blew open my French  doors. In the 20 seconds it took to cross the room and get them closed, I ended up with a lake in my bedroom. Kitties aren't liking this at all!

This all just happened about thirty minutes ago. And it's fairly usual in this area for torrential monsoon rains. That being said,, lightening and thunder right on top of you is something else! They have closed one road into town due to flooding, reports of landslides, and I15 may be closed.

Are you in the SW?? They said on Weather Channel a few minutes ago that SW was now having some fairly strong monsoon conditions.
They had huge hail in Tustin, a burb of LA..........some quarter size.
We have had some very hot conditions and now the air conditioning from the Pacific is moving in and temps will drop almost 40 degrees by next Thursday. The coast is already almost 40 degrees cooler than the valley.......79 miles to the west.

Those desert storms are amazing.......


I still recall what it looked like when we were in Monument Valley and how it rolled in...........
It brought heavy rain, lightning etc.
I was sitting on a covered terrace outside patio doors to our room,
all rooms at Gouldings opened out onto the valley floor so you can imagine the sight..
It was so amazing.
