I really want to see this............
There is another classic production coming out too.....which I am looking forward to........Jane Eyre.
And speaking further of classics,
I wonder what the film Pride and Prejudice and Zombies will be like??
:P

They're making another Jane Eyre? Heck, one already this year. Talk about an embarrassment of riches! I don't like anything to do with zombies, so don't know about that one.

I still recall seeing the book at Borders
The face half and half......ie one side normal and the other skeleton.
And now they are doing a film?
I saw some details on Film Stage not long ago......
My sister who is a lit major said "Ah no thanks"
so wondering how many more, particularly dyed in the wool fans
of P&P in it original format will be wanting to see the zombie
version
**rolls eyes**

The one I am speaking of may be same you are speaking of, Michael
Fassbender plays Mr. Rochester.
I thought Toby Stephens was terrific in that role.

Yes, that's the one. I loved it. Second favourite after the Timothy Dalton adaption.

Thank you for stating the obvious
I also thought Dalton was one of the best Bonds.
He took the role seriously and when they would not allow him to drop the cheap throw away lines and all the gadgets he walked out
He had three films he was suppose to make but found them suffocating due to lack of realism.
I guess with Craig Broccoli rethought.....and they incorporated some of Dalton's suggestions.

Loved Dalton as Bond. Craig's Bond really reminds me of his - guess he was before his time.

Concur...........
Dalton and Craig have been best.
There is nothing cheap or camp about Bond of the books
I wonder if Craig would have done Bond if they had dragged out all
the schtick from earlier days??
UGH
It is why I disliked it so much...........
When I saw Craig in Layer Cake I remember as I drove home I thought
"He would make a fine Bond" and so you can imagine how shocked I was when they announced none other than Daniel Craig
The fans did not like Dalton because he was so much like Craig is today in Bond...........
I would love to have seen what Dalton could have done with the material as it is now.
I would bet amazing.

I wish I'd seen the newest Jane Eyre in the theater, but missed it. We rented it though, may have to buy the DVD at some point.

How was Fassbender as Rochester?
It is on my library list.....but just wonder what you thought
compared to Toby?

I don't really remember the Toby one all that well, I'm afraid.

Toby was memorable in that role; the ones I saw before
remain a blur........
It will be interesting see Fassbender do it
I am also looking forward to seeing him as Carl Jung

Fuck, this is awesome. It's like they took this Heathcliff straight out of my head. I've always had two theories about Heathcliff. The first was that he was Catherine's actual brother, born from an affair between Catherine's father and some woman, or that he was truly a different race, a gypsy, which means nothing to me, but seems to mean a lot in Europe. To my mind, the only two things that could possibly warrant their total inability to connect in life and God Himself tossing them out of heaven would be incest or miscegenation. Making him black is just about perfect.
