TMI, health related crap
Both my IBS and the fibro have been really bad lately. I think work and home stress have sort of overwhelmed my system. I've also had some new pain, as I call it, that kinda has me a concerned, but logically, it's probably just more of the same. I used to be really good about supplementing, micro nutrients, that sort of thing, but lately have fallen off the wagon. So last week, I refreshed my memory and did a little research, and started taking ginger capsules. Nin was able to get those at work. And I ordered slippery elm and peppermint oil capsules, those came in yesterday. I've been taking the ginger for a week, and while I got it for my screwed up innards, I read that it's also supposed to be helpful for joint pain. Now it may be a coincidence, but I realized that my finger joints aren't hurting like they normally do. If so, it's a nice side benefit. And I definitely think it's helped my tummy. I'm going to start on the ohe stuff today, and we'll see if it makes any difference.

Hope those herbs help you feel better soon. I love Hansen's ginger ale, it always has a nice tummy calming effect. Very gingery.

Looks like ginger is really helping you. Hopefully it will continue to help, and that your other remedies will too. I will have to look into taking ginger myself; black_raven135 actually mentioned it once to me as a good remedy for my immunity problems. I'm currently taking royal jelly and echinacea, but can't really feel much improvement.

It's handy to have around just for plain old upset tummy.

Wow, didn't realize you also had fibro. Sorry to hear that :(

I also recommend a Magnesium supplement for fibro. Makes a world of different for me. B Complex and CoQ10 both help too.

My IBS has mostly gone away with my low carb, high fat diet (gluten free, mostly dairy free, sugar free, etc.)

Alot of the alternative stuff has worked fairly well for me.

Hope ya feel better soon.

Yep, for years. Mum has it too.

CoQ10! That's what it was. I took it about ten yrs ago, though not sure of its actually helping, but I couldn't remember what it was called last week.

If you have acid reflux, be careful of the peppermint oil capsules. I have that, and peppermint will turn up the acid. Not fun. I had no idea that there were ginger capsules though. I should try those.

Hope your IBS and fibromyalga settle down soon. Good luck with the new supplements.

The irony is that when we MOST need to take care of ourselves -- when we're stressed -- is also the time we are LEAST likely to do so.

*hugs* Hope the new pills continue to help!
