One more new Holby icon, and a few more winter type ones. Feel free to take one home :)

Not sure I can agree. I mean come on, they only knew each other a few months. What did she say - not even 6 months (swept off her feet).

How does a bright, educated, attractive women agree to marry someone that fast. I mean, engaged quickly okay, but hold off on the wedding until you know the person better. It may have saved her the embarrassment.

But instead, she pulls together a wedding in a few weeks / months. Seems a little desperate to me. So I only have a little sympathy for her.

Not that he handled it all that well. He could have at least called her before she got to the church, but still, was it really unexpected? And isn't it better to have never been married, then have the "hollywood" type marriage of 130 days or so?

Okay, I was making a humorous throw away comment, but if you want a serious discussion...

Not sure I can agree. I mean come on, they only knew each other a few months. What did she say - not even 6 months (swept off her feet).

So? Lots of people get married in a short space of time. My coworker eloped after about 6 weeks and they've been married 13 years.

Again, lots of people know they're in love and want to get married in a short space of time. It's not like she's known him 6 days. Getting married within six months doesn't make a person stupid or uneducated.

But instead, she pulls together a wedding in a few weeks / months. Seems a little desperate to me. So I only have a little sympathy for her.

Planning a wedding is desperate? Not to mention she didn't do it in a vacuum. At what point does he have some responsibility to say 'I've changed my mind' ? I find it hard to believe he wasn't at all involved in knowing there was going to be a wedding, picking a date, hell picking the honeymoon destination! He didn't seem to have a problem with that.

Not that he handled it all that well. He could have at least called her before she got to the church, but still, was it really unexpected? And isn't it better to have never been married, then have the "hollywood" type marriage of 130 days or so?

He didn't handle it at all. He left the poor woman standing at the altar, which has to be one of the rottenest things someone can do. He had sex with her -- multiple times -- the night before the wedding. Not like he couldn't have told her then. Or how about even leaving a note before she woke up on her wedding morning? So no, I think for her it was entirely unexpected. *I'd* think it was unexpected if I were here.

No, I'm sorry, but as much as the character is great fun, and while it's not real life, if I'm looking at it seriously, he's pretty much pond scum in how he treated Camilla. And he only made it worse by running away for a month on what was supposed to be their honeymoon. Now, whether she would have reacted that heatedly if Jac hadn't lied to her to try and create trouble, I don't know. But at the very least, she certainly deserved him to at least talk to her face to face, and being slapped was not undeserved -- nor unexpected in the circumstances. .

Only you could take a humorous line/icon (and a POTC quote at that) and end up making me write a serious post on a soap opera. Usually only something like House gets me to do that.

Sorry, did not mean to upset you. What is a POTC?

Not upset, again, this is me being humourous. I get the feeling my English sense of humour doesn't track with you?

POTC is Pirates of the Caribbean.

Hi!
