13 Dwarves

A recap of the web chat Peter Jackson and Guillermo del Toro did yesterday on the two Hobbit films. Lots of interesting details, like...

Tolkien wrote 13 dwarves and I intend to use 13 dwarves. I am, in fact, thrilled to keep them all and have them be distinguishable and affecting as characters. Much of the drama and emotion in the last third of the book and film will come from them."

Different Dwarf

Me. I'm Grumpy. I think it's because my head hurts. I was up at four this morning, went into the bathroom, was feeling out of sync, and somehow managed to clip my temple/brow bone with the bathroom door. It really hurts too. So much for planning on writing. Is bummed [sigh]

So...

even though it actually hurts to blink my right eye, I figured I should do something useful [g] So I made a bath of smoked habanero salsa since I'm making Nin's favourite chipotle chicken tacos tomorrow. Doing it today means not having to do it tomorrow. She works tonight, but has tomorrow off. Yesterday, I mad a rhubarb pie, so dessert is covered.

Watching FNC waiting for the Mars Phoenix Lander to touchdown. Keeping my fingers crossed that this one makes it and works! After that's over, I may break out a movie to watch.

Later: Cool! NASA TV -- live feed.

5pm: It landed safely! Now they have to see if the solar panels deploy. That will happen in about two hours.

It Would Seem...

that I am going to write a follow up to 'He's a Pirate', except not the 'how Methos and Charlotte met' story that I thought it was going to be. It seems to firmly planted in the present day along with the story of the last time they met in the 1860s and the circumstances involved in their losing touch with each other for a century and a half. So no Jack Sparrow this time around, though on the upside, it won't be a crossover, which I know makes people happy [g]

Now I need to think of a title! And since this is turning into yet another freaking series, it needs a title too [sighs] 'That Horizon' maybe?
