She also requested a curry, but since the spices haven't arrived in the mail yet, I'm making her next favourite, cheese grits with shrimp. She ended up having today off, so she can actually eat her birthday dinner at dinner time and not when she gets home at 11pm.

Now I have a puzzle cake, with both layers fitted back together from the several pieces they broke into. ARGH!

Well, the cake isn't going to be winning any awards for being pretty, but at least it tastes really good and I managed to glue the worst bits together with icing. That's something, I suppose.
