'Neither Wind Nor Bird' (01/01)

I wrote a comment fic last week in response to a meme, which was essentially the first section of this story. I fleshed it out a bit and added a second part, and now, have a complete story to present to you.

This takes place about ten days after ‘The Heart of a Friend’ and several weeks before strangevisitor7's story, ‘Hell Hath No Fury’.

Neither wind nor bird
That was my heart you heard
Last night by the River
Making thunder through the land,
Shaking earth where you did stand

“Are you sweet on Cecily?” a young voice asked from behind him.

( Startled, Vin just about hit his thumb with the hammer he was using to fix the latch on the vegetable garden gate.  )

Pizza Night

After several aborted attempts, I'm finally making pizza tonight. I really love my homemade pizza, but it's an all afternoon affair. From making the dough, to prepping all the toppings, shredding the cheese, seems like that's all I've done since 2pm! Making plain cheese for my father, a bacon, mushroom, and sauteed tomato for mum, and roasted garlic, goat cheese for me and Nin.

Thinking I'll avoid the internet tonight so I don't find out who wins at the Emmys till I get to actually see it. Happens every year since the east coast sees it before the west coast. And now with LJ and Twitter, almost impossible to avoid spoilers. Before, all I had to do was avoid email!

Need to go remind Nin to make margaritas....
