I was in the zone when the fire started - had written nearly 600 words. Went back to it and tried to at least finish the scene, but am too out of it. Maybe I can get back to it tomorrow.

Heartbreaking

Looking at the ruin of the home that caught fire and it's just awful. Found out this morning it was due to neighbour burning weeds and it got away from him. The family ran out, the father didn't even have time to put his shoes on. The worst thing was they couldn't get their pets out and they died in the fire. I keep starting to cry every time I think about it.
