ithildin: (Art - If Only)
I tried and tried to post my latest story last night, but to no avail. Tried again this morning, still not working. Only small posts seem to go through. I have it posted at Dreamwidth, as well as AO3 if you'd like to read it.

How British People Eat is the subject of one Chow digests I just received. There's no link, so pasting it in below the cut. )

So here's one of my things: I like to watch people eat, surreptitiously, of course. How do they hold their fork, in which hands, do they switch them back and forth? My upbringing was a hodgepodge of Canadian, American, and British, and I don't always know that aspect of my behavior or speech comes from which sometimes. I do the 'composed bites' - not all the time, but a lot of the time - and had no idea it was a British-ism. I don't switch knife and fork when I eat; fork stays in left hand, knife in right, and I hold the fork tines up. My parents, who are from western Canada are utensil switchers. So tell me, how do you eat? Feed my hyper-curiosity!

Posting attempt 117, still not King....

Rating: PG
Notes: This contains spoilers for Captain America: the First Avenger, and follows Everything Old Is New Again, and probably before The House of Keebler (We'll have to see how The Avengers timeline plays out.). It's set a few weeks after the end of Captain America, modern day.
Summary: Recent events bring back old memories for Nick Fury.

Added Note: have added a Marvel Movies tag since a lot of these stories aren't exactly direct individual movie crossovers.

I'll Be Seeing You

"How's my favourite top secret agency director?" Charlotte Sparrow asked cheerily, poking her head around the open door of Nick Fury's office at SHIELD headquarters in Manhattan.

Fury cracked a smile at his unexpected visitor. "I'm your favourite? I never knew." He waved her in. "He has a headache," he answered.

Charlotte settled herself on the small couch at the far end of the large office, setting her purse and several shopping bags of various sizes next to her. )
