Decline and fall of the Roman myth by Terry Jones. Great article, part of the upcoming book Terry Jones’ Barbarians.

Ith,

I've swiped this and posted about it on my LJ, I hope that's okay.

Also, you might want to post about this on FORKNI-L. There must be an easy way to tie it in to LaCroix (Roman) and Nick (Gaul).

No, I don't mind :)

Err.... Well, I'll try and think of something creative. But if you think of something, then you should post it!

Thanks for the link! I'll watch the series when it comes on :)

The Romans probably did realise that the Celts had a few good ideas and skills - they converted several hillforts into camps of their own, once the siege was done. They might not have been so inclined to acknowledge it though!

The victors write the history after all. I'm sure the show will end up here like his last series did, but till then, I'll have to get the book. Maybe work it into a Methos flashback. Heh.
