Another Viewing

ninjababe and I liked 300 so much, we're thinking of going to see it again. Though she wants to go see Mutant Turtle Teenage Ninjas, and I have no interest in seeing it at all. So maybe she can go see that, I'll shop, and then we can meet up for another viewing of 300.

Mind if I ask what made you like it? The only thing I've heard so far is all that rampaging political nonsense *lol* but I do have a habit of nitpicking any and all historical BS I can spot on screen.

Don't know about the rampaging political nonsense, so can't help you there. I'm not that good at explaining why I like something. Err... okay it was kind of like LOTR where there were major beefs I had with the adaption to film, but overall, it got the spirit of the books, so that made me happy. 300 doesn't make any claims to be a historically accurate movie, and I wasn't expecting it to be, but I liked the spirit of the film. Don't know if that makes sense. I liked the way it looked overall -- not just all the pretty men -- as a piece of film making (I'm a film geek sometimes). I liked the soundtrack. I loved the relationship between Leonidas and his wife. And she had some great lines and moments. I liked the themes that ran through the film.

It was a movie I came away from not feeling like I'd wasted seven bucks and two hours of my life on.

That's about the extent of my ability to explain why I liked it, I'm afraid :)

Umm, yeah, saw it yesterday - loved it. Gorgeously filmed.

Two points from another journal I read:
1. Leonidas' beard - chin penis.
2. Those guys had to have gotten waxed - no leg hairs, no short and curlies coming out from the leather briefs. Muahahahaha
