From SciFi Wire:
Amber Valletta will star in CBS' supernatural drama pilot Twilight, about a private investigator (Alex O'Laughlin) who is a vampire, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Twilight comes from Warner Brothers Television and Silver Pictures.
Valletta will play the P.I.'s immortal love, a vampire who turned him after biting him on their wedding night.
O'Laughlin and Shannon Lucio were cast in the pilot last week. Lucio will play an ambitious TV reporter who becomes close with the vampire.
In other pilot news, ABC's time-travel drama pilot Life on Mars, based on the BBC series, has been pushed back because of difficulties casting the lead. The David E. Kelley Productions and 20th TV drama is now being targeted for midseason.

Twilight, Blood Ties, and and the Southern Vampire to start on HBO in the fall.
There are only so many plots and hour long show can do.
May the best show survive to the second or third season!

Date: 2007-03-22 04:48 am (UTC)From:I think it's important to remember those are in very different places. I won't get to see the Southern Vampire series as it first airs because I don't have HBO. I'm enjoying Blood Ties a lot where it is on basic cable. Twilight will be on one of the "Big Four" networks, and I worry about a vampire series there like Ith does. Forever Knight's first two season were only on CBS's "Crimetime After Primetime" and it only made it to a third season by moving to basic cable. Kindred the Embraced was on Fox, and they didn't even air all of the episodes they bought.
