Don't feel stupid, I didn't get it when I first came across crossovers100.
First, you make a claim at the comm. A pairing or a character. Then you pick one of the prompts from the table, and write a story featuring your character or pairing.
I also do the crossovers100, so here's an example of one of those ones: http://community.livejournal.com/crossovers100/186188.html and here's my table for that: http://ithidrial.livejournal.com/26623.html If you look at the table, you'll see prompt# 94 has a link to the story I wrote. So in the case of the Highlander one, there's 50 prompts, as opposed to a 100, and you write something for each of them either using the word or using it as a theme for the story.
