First up, 'What Lies Beneath'

The relationship between Dan and Maddy is so cool. I hope we get more of this sort of thing in the future. I love that they're friends -- partners in crime even [g] -- and that (so far at least) it's not a sexual relationship. Score one for best buddies! And I sure hope they keep it that way.

I never saw enough of Ric before he left, but was he always so paranoid, spying on his colleagues, etc?

Is the bar actually in the hospital? I've wondered for a while if was, but this time it sure seemed like it must be. And if so, how come we don't have bars in our hospitals?!?! No fair! [g]

I quite liked Maria in this one.

Faye and her dead husband. And Jac and Joseph. What I don't get is why, if Lord Byrne was sick and had to stay in the UK, he didn't send another consultant in his place? That part made no sense to me. Who did he think was going to do the operation? Maybe Lord Byrne assumed there'd be a consultant level surgeon there in Dubai to supervise?

And moving on to 'Bedlam'

Mmmm.... angry commanding Dan! As long as it's not me he's mad at, it was quite sexy [g]And again, Matt is a friggin moron. Do you think Dan will actually give him an out eventually, or will he totally wash his hands of him?

Anyone else think Faye's pregnant? And Joseph paying for her legal bills. I kind of like Faye and Joseph as a couple -- anyone but Jac.

Dan seems to be quite a good teacher.

I wonder if Lola told Dan that she knew about Matt and Nicki, but gave Matt a second chance? She'd probably get in trouble for that, so maybe not.

Sutherland sure blew Lola off about Thandie, huh?

Those two episodes are dead funny! The thing that always gets me about Dan is the way he's always just walking past at the right time and giving those little mischievous grins like he know everything that's happening in the whole hospital.

Reminds me of a sneaky little boy when he grins like that. :)

I think the bar is in the hospital, they always talk about going 'down stairs' to the bar.

He was so naughty in these episodes. Telling Maddy that he would have liked photos of her and the lesbian kissing. I laughed most of the way through his scenes.

The whole no consultant in Dubai thing seemed weird but I think what probably happened was that they all had their tickets paid for then Lord Burne got sick and told them to take the time as a holiday (or Jaq does) then once their there, she talks Joseph into 'just going to look' at the young man and it all goes down hill from there.

Yeah Faye does seem to be pregnant.

The whole thing with Matt is odd. He's a complete twit in his personal life but I think Dan sees potential in him. I think that's what spurned his bet with Maddy. Just digging a bit into who Matt is before he offers him a possition on the surgical team.

It's probably the Matt cover up thing that they'll use as the contingency plan for Peter not renewing his contract for next year. If he doesn't renew then something can come out that he's covered up and he has to scarper off into the distance a la Abra's abrupt departure.

and Sutherland just creeps me out.

It did occur to me actually, that whole thing where Dan set Diane up to bad mouth Ric and him overhearing might not have just been Dan pissing around with everyone. I think it could have been a dominance thing with Ric. With Ric overhearing Diane (who he know's was in love with him) completely siding with Dan he's showing Ric that he is in the stronger position in the hospital. He can get the support of 'anyone' and is therefore better/more powerfull. That could be the reason for the whole flirting with Thandie thing as well. Well that and the jealous, infuriated looks he gets from Ric.

Naughty, manipulative, sexy boy Dan is, can't wait for next week. :)

I can't be that authorative on this, but I have to say that I have never seen a bar in a UK hospital. It's probably just really close, Bristol (where Holby & Casualty are filmed) isn't a very big city, even by UK standards. Doctors do like a drink but I think the Health and Safety Nazis would probably frown on alcohol being served in a hospital.
That doesn't mean it's not in the hospital though...
