Go to keepvid.com and select "YouTube" in the menu line and paste the URL in the window. When the "download file" link comes up under Download and "Original link", click it. Change the name of the file to be saved to whatever you want and add .flv at the end of it. The latest version of VLC should be able to play .flv files.
You're welcome. There's an attachment for Firefox that does the same thing, but most of the time it seems to be busy or out of order. Keepvid is the most reliable site I've found.
