I'm sure there's something else I could be doing, but I'm currently infatuated with the soundtrack for 'At World's End', and am listening to it over and over. I'm like that with music when something really grabs me. In the case of a soundtrack, it allows me to relive the movie in my imagination (that weird Cinerama brain of mine). And right now, I'm in a POTC squee cycle. I'll get over it in a few weeks, no doubt [g] But for now, my obsession is all Pirates of the Caribbean, all the time.

I am so glad that Johnny Depp is amenable to doing another one! My hero!

Are about the binding of Calypso.

Because I'm obsessed with that song... The lyrics! Did them myself, and I'm a bit iffy on the second verse...

The King and his men
Stole the queen from her bed
And bound her in her bones

Seas be ours
And bide their powers
Were we will, we'll roam

Yo ho, all together
Hoist the colors high
Heave ho, thieves and beggars
Never shall we die.

If by iffy you mean correct I think they're pretty darn close. The only things, very picky, would be the very quick The before Seas and, I think, 'their powers' is 'the powers.' I think.

I've been listening to this way too much.

I didn't mean that to come across all snarky like it probably does. Sorry. I'm really just trying to be helpful and probably not succeeding.

Also, Ithidrial said it was stuck in your head all weekend. It was stuck in my husband's as well. He's been singing it to me and he NEVER sings. Oddly enough, I'm the one with the susceptible brain to that sort of thing and this hasn't stuck yet. If I'd stop listening to it over and over it might though.

Don't worry about it, I didn't think it was snarky at all... And, I think you're right about the lyrics.

Tonight, I've listened to the soundtrack over and over again for the over four hours... Damn fine music!

I'm always getting music stuck in my head. Usually, it's a song on the radio that I only hear a bit of.

I think half the adoration I have to 'Raise the Colours' (I just noticed they use the British spelling on the soundtrack...). Anyway, half the reason I adore the song is the scene it is in the movie. A very emotional, gut-wrenching scene for me.

I'm much the same way. J, my husband, loves to say about three words to songs to see if he can get them stuck in my head and it usually works.

That scene is amazing. Later when it plays as part of the background to the scene it literally gives me goosebumps, even when I'm just listening to the music.

From Slumberfication (http://potatopenguins.blogspot.com/2007/05/pirates-of-caribbean-3-at-worlds-end.html):

Yo, ho, haul together, hoist the
Colors high. heave ho, thieves
And beggars, never shall we die.

The king and his men stole the queen
From her bed and bound her in her Bones..
The seas be ours and by the powers
Where we will we'll roam.

Yo, ho, haul together, hoist the
Colors high.heave ho, thieves
And beggars, never say we die

Some men have died and some are alive
And others sail on the sea - with He
keys to the cage.
and the Devil to pay
we lay to Fiddler's Green!

The bell has been raised
from it's watery grave...
do you hear it's sepulchral tone?

We are A call to all,
pay heed the squall
and turn your sail toward home!

Yo ho, haul together
Raise the colors high!
Heave ho thieves and beggars, never say we die.

I still don't have either the soundtrack or the sheet music for same, so I can't attest to its accuracy.
