* Looks like Nin's graveyard shift is being made part of the regular shift rotation, so she's going to be going back to working all over the week and time of day. I think it will be a good thing, but it does mean new adjustments to everyday life stuff.

* The weather here is seriously wonky. It's just been so warm, and today, even though it's foggy, it's warm. Does not compute! But it's sure been nice! But they're still stone cutting next door, so the noise battles with my office being too stuffy with the door closed.

* The internet has died again. Has to be summer.

* I know there are Harry Potter spoilers out there, and though I haven't been rabidly avoiding them, I seem to have nonetheless. My copy is coming from Amazon UK, so I probably won't have it till Monday/Tuesday.

* And because I'm bored, the 'ask me' meme! It's always good for distracting me [g]

This is a question I seem to be asking everyone lately: do you have a passion, and if you do, what is it?

Something you're really passionate about - or several things, I guess! It could be an issue, or a hobby, or just a love of something.

Heh, no, I'm just extremely sleepy, so wanted to clarify :) 'Passion' is used in so many ways these days

An issue I'm passionate about would be the plight of women in the world, subject to barbarities like 'honour killings' and female infanticide. Also related, human trafficking and slavery. I get really wound up on the subject, and have for many years.

On the fun side of passion :) I'd say Tolkien, history, current events in general. And cheese! Always passionate about cheese :)

You've often talked about Nin, or at least mentioned her in posts. I was just wondering if she was your partner/girl friend and how long you'd been together.

Oh! Here I was imagining something scary [g]

We've been together 11 years, but we're not a couple in that way. We met on the internet, she left home, needed a safe place to be, and moved in with me and my family. But we're a unit, I suppose would be the way to put it. She's my best friend/daughter/sister sort of person :) Other than the fact we're not romantically involved, we share a life in pretty much in all other regards. We have a non-traditional relationship, I suppose!

LOL *blush* I just didn't know how private you kept your life, aside from mentioning Nin, and like I said I didn't want to ask if you didn't want it publicly known. Haha, sorry, I'm rambling.

Anyway, mainly I was wondering because I've been with my girlfriend for the past three years, but it's only been the last year or so that our relationship has become less romantic and more of a roommate situation, and I was just curious. And I'm rambling again. LOL

No problem :) Most people assume we're a couple, and I suppose technically we are. We share money, housing, vacations, car. Maybe Nin will put in her two cents later!

Do you introduce each other as your roommate? My gf and I do that in public, or around people who don't know that we're bisexual. Do you date other people, or have you gotten to the fed up with relationships stage? LOL

It depends on the circumstances. (and I hate the term roommate in general) (so I usually try to avoid calling her that)

We didn't purposely set out not to date, but it's sort of happened. We're both hermits, so we're quite happy in our own little world most of the time. Dating just never seems like something either of us miss, so we don't seek it out. I've pretty much accepted I shall now and forever be a spinster [g] Nin's also quite a bit younger than I am, so she has more of a chance of escaping spinster status

Eh. I did the married route, so did the gf, and it's not all that it's touted to be. LOL We're going through a bit of a dry spell right now. I miss the physical side of our relationship, but I can usually take care of things if needed. LOL If we break up, I doubt that I'll ever date again, although I would miss companionship.

Are you or Nin bisexual? Your relationship with Nin is similar to mine, except that we do have that romantic side to ours.

Fraid we're both quite boringly heterosexual [g] One of our best friends bewails the fact we aren't lesbians because she insists we're the perfect couple and we act like we're married anyway, so it's a waste [g] Yes, our friends slash us.

Ahahaha! That's too funny! Right now, I'm happy being with my gf, but she could just as easily be male and I'd feel the same. It's interesting that the two of you are technically a couple, but you're not in practice. Thanks for talking to me about this!! :D

Yeah, the shared checking account was the last mark in the couple column, I think [g] And our friends treat us as a unit. Invitations include both of us, etc. As far as my mum is concerned, Nin is her second daughter and refers to her as her daughter in conversation with her friends.

My parents are still a little uneasy about the whole situation, but my gf's mom accepted me without any hesitation. Which is a good thing considering that we've moved into her house with my gf's two kids, our four cats and one dog, too. LOL

No questions (well how is part 10 of IRYNF going) just that I am awaiting my copy of HP 7 from amazon UK too and am making bets with myself about if it will come before we fly or will I have finished it before we fly!

I haven't written any of it yet. Being away over the weekend, hen being sick sort of messed up my muse. But hopefully I'll get a restart soon :)
