Watching the Horsemen eps of Highlander to see if it will jump start my muse.

Very amusing parody of HP 7 here. Obviously, there be spoilers.

[livejournal.com profile] mischief5 had a meme on five character deaths that affected you. My answers were:

~ Helen Burns, Jane Eyre's best friend. At age seven, that had a fairly profound influence on me.

~ Boromir in Lord of the Rings.

~ Lucy Muir in The Ghost and Mrs. Muir.

~ Aragorn, and then Arwen in the appendices of LotR

~ And I picked one real person, because my initial exposure to her was through novels, and because I never stick the rules, Lady Jane Grey.

Now Silas and Caspian are chasing Duncan around.

Oh, and I was slashing my neighbours earlier tonight!

Later: I always sing the Slinky jingle during the double quickening. And then I want to hug Methos.

What happened to Aragorn and Arwen? I never read the books.

It's in the appendices. Aragorn chooses his time to die, and Arwen, at the end, can't accept his mortality. He tells her that it isn't too late, she could renounce her choice and join her people, but she refuses. Aragorn dies, she says goodbye to their grown children, and she goes back to what had been Lothlorien to wander a place where they'd truly fallen in love. Then she dies of grief. Which is something elves are prone to. It always makes me cry :)

The movies used some of that when Elrond shows her her future, and that also makes me cry [g]

It's very sad :( No matter how many times I read it, it makes me cry.
