I'm working on a fic currently, but out of nowhere comes the urge to write a story with Joe in it. A sequel to Broken Window. Now, I've written Joe before, just not 'vampire' Joe. When I first started writing this series, it was a shared universe I wrote in with half a dozen other people. Part of our 'agreement' was that each of us would abide by whatever story decisions any of the other of us made. So one of our authours had a story line where Joe, due to an accident, became a vampire. I wrote stories, and posted them, based on that premise, but she never actually finished the initial story -- figures! But by then, I was committed to that course, and Joe was a vampire. But I've still never written anything but a mortal Joe, only alluded to his condition in more recent stories, and used it as something for Methos to throw in Triona's face when things aren't good between them. But now I have the urge to remedy that. One more fic for the 'in progresss' pile!

Wow! An old timer :) I haven't heard the name 'Apache' for years... I'm thinking Vachon needs to make a reappearance! I never figured he was permanently dispatched :) And I so loved writing him in a story I wrote a few months back.
I remember people even writing about the bartender and Natalie's cat. I was in the middle of a PhD but enjoyed reading the old stuff. If I were 'free', I might have written some Lacroix or Vachon fanfic back at that time. However, I came out in '99 and found fanfic.net first. I went back to writing what I used to do (in Phantom print zines) which was Phantom vampire/Dracula stuff. Eventually, mostly because of the Hellsing universe (and my sister who is a loooongtime Man from Uncle fan) I found my way to LJ land:)

PS--I saved some of the fliers from the old cons. I have one which lists all the groups (Nick/Nat as well as Nick/Janette), etc. Nice to see some of the older folks still around:)

My roomie moved on to write Van Helsing fic. I haven't read it cus it's slash, but I'm sure it's excellent :)

It is surprising how many of us old folk are still around :)
