WorldCon in '08 is not over Labour Day as is the practice, but August 6-10 instead. FIVE days! Whee! The website is here, and they do have the installment plan set up, so you have nearly a year to pay for your membership.

Anyone going? I'm really hoping to be able to attend this year. I haven't been to a WorldCon since ConJose [pout] I have costumes I really want to wear again! And it's just a blast to go to a real SF con. I go into withdrawal after a few years of no con going. So fingers crossed!

I am probably leaping to conclusions, since I barely know you Ms. Ithildin, but I suspect you have not yet lost the blush of green youth.

Worldcon '08 looks like massive fun, but I can't afford it: the money is there, but not the time... Well, that, and my husband would kill me if dumped full-time all-alone parenting on-him again for something so frivolous.

I don't know if I'll have the time or money, since major changes are afoot in my life. But we'll see if fate is kind! Otherwise, there's always Montreal in 2009.

And, thanks to the 2009 Worldcon being Thursday-Monday and 2008 being Wednesday-Sunday, Anticipation (http://www.anticipationsf.ca/) and Denvention 3 are both the same dates: August 6-10. I haven't checked the Long List, but off the top of my head, I think this is the first time that two consecutive Worldcons have been held on exactly the same dates.

Huh! I hadn't even looked ahead to the 2009 Worldcon, so hadn't noticed the dates.
