Hey!! Glad to hear you've been on the 'net as long as I have. You were a FK fan? what was your afiliation? Were you involved in any of the Wars?

I was a Cousin and a Ravenette, and actually had my own 'title' -- the Cousinly Ravenette :) Yes, I was in two, my first, I was part of the group that got Cherri out of the cow suit.

God, I don't remember. Mel I think. I used to be on the PITT LISTSERV for fanfic.

I was on the FKFIC listserv, PSU, I think. Mel runs this archive: http://www.fkfanfic.com/ She started it in 1996

Dang! I see Mel has archived an email digest (http://www.fkfanfic.com/fkmisc/lastknight.txt) from the the old FKspoiler list. The subject was 'Last Knight'. Rereading it is a trip. I'd almost forgotten how passionate we all were about our show. I don't think I'll ever be that involved in a fandom again.

I had to watch Last Knight from a hotel tv, because my parents just happened to be visiting me when I worked at Cedar Point, and I didn't have cable in the work dorms. I didn't even know it would be on. It was like a gift. Aaaaaand then I saw the ending.

Do you remember for-kni-l? I did everything by mailing list then. I remember an in person get together in NYC about FK. I think I went by emily d in those days. A friend of mine took me away for the weekend because I was so heavily into fandom those days.

and then the Bujold list, Sentinel fandom, B5. Ah dear sweet B5. I remember it well.

FORKNI-L is definitely still around. Don Fasig and Lisa McDavid are still the admins, and they still make everybody play nice, which is singularly unique among the mailing lists I've participated in.

Oh, jeez. Ith had to bring up my old FK fandom nick. I'm so embarrassed by that! Because, you know, Havoc is less pretentious than Bast. ;)

Nah, I remember you mostly from Highlander fandom. You did the Lyric Wheel stuff, right? I was pretty much out of FK by the time you stopped lurking, but I was a NatPacker back in the day.

I met you in person once and stayed in your dorm and we went to someone's FK party. Some big name fan went and had her expensive "GWD wore this shirt" souvenir she brought that had fake bullet holes and everything.

OMG! I remember you! You went by Idalia then, didn't you? I had such fun that weekend, but I kind of cut ties with FK fandom after some debacles during it's slow, painful implosion.

I still go by Idalia on some mailing lists I'm on, oddly enough, but then I started using Miyeko on other online things a few years ago.

Y'all know me by a different name; I used to use my real name in FK fandom, and I keep it stringently separate from this ID so somebody doesn't Google one of my professional papers and end up finding my hobbit slash instead. :-) But I was an IRC regular, an ardent Vaquera (and secondary N&N-er), and a V4S author, and I still pimp FK to anybody who'll listen, any chance I get!

Mel (Red, Cyberred) is here on LJ, as are Jamie Melody Randell, Susan Garrett, Laurie Salopek, Kristen Fife, and probably half the rest of the old FORKNI list, if I only knew the nicknames.

Oh my! This all takes me back. This is Shirl, btw, for those who remember me. Hi to all y'all I haven't 'seen' in ages. Ith just drafted me into LJ ::gives Ith a *look*, but then smiles at her fondly:: and I'm still not used to stuff. I've been off-line so long. And I don't think I'll ever get into a fandom the way I did FK ever again either. (Yes, I'm replying to different comments from different people. ::g::) I guess what show you lose your fandom virginity ::wg:: to will always be the most special. Is Mel the Mel I went to a few FK things with? Or is this a different Mel. I remember Bast, of course, and some of you others (I'm experiencing a short-term loss of memory at the moment. I participated in one war (don't remember what I did) but I think I mostly lurked on the big list. It was Ith's little mixed fandom and other things list I really busted loose on. Man! Now I'm wishing I had a scanner hooked up so I could do a page with some of the ol' fan pics.... Unless there's a major protest, I'll get around to it sometime, even if I have to take them to Walmart to do it. Mwahahaha!

There are fandom related reccing communities where people rec fic to read. I singed up to rec fic for the month of April.

Gah. Blast from the past. Just checked out www.fkfanfic.com for the first time in ages and found a bunch of stuff I had little memory of writing. I should update the contact information. I'm not surprised there are so many old FK fen on LJ these days. It was a prolific writing group and writers seem to be attracted to LJ.

Yeah... Forever Knight. It sucked you in, then staked you at the end. I worked like a demon to get a last fanfic done before "Last Knight" aired and I've only been able to watch a couple of eps since.

I don't think we interacted much, since I was Die-Hard (early days), then wandered between the NatPack and Mercs (hence the name). And the virtual season -- what a hellish mess to organize, but interesting at the same time. I don't remember writing my ep at all, so I suspect my co-author wrote most of it. The perils of a bad memory.

Mind if I friend you? I'm mostly a lurker, but we've got quite a few fandoms in common and I like to read the postings of those prolific than I. My life's almost entirely consumed with stupid adult things like work and house maintenance, but I keep meaning to get back into fandom again more.
