I took two photos with my cell phone on Wednesday afternoon. I wasn't sure how they would come out, but they're actually not too bad. Both are of Monterey Bay and the beach taken from Cannery Row. Click for larger image.

If you look straight across the bay where the large pale building is, that's sorta where we live.

Ooh. Gorgeous. There are times when the beauty of portions of California almost conquer my desire to never visit there.

When it's beautiful it really is :) But on most days, that photo would be gray and overcast/foggy [g] On the other hand, it really makes us appreciate a day that gets past 70 and it's sunny. Like today!

Go to Cali!

Disneyland is fun (and that was before all the new stuff opened up), and there's some beautiful scenery, particularly in the Monterey area. Well, you might want to wait until the fuel prices go down and you have a friend you can stay with. That makes it a much nicer experience. What month was I there...dang! I can't recall, but it was nice weather mostly. Jog my memory, Ith?

Those are good. I didn't think a cell phone could take pictures that nice.

Me either! This is my first cell with a camera, so I wasn't sure what to expect.

I was really surprised a cell phone could pick up so much!

Pretty!

When I took pics out there, I was using a 35 mm; I had no idea you could get such nice quality from a cell.

Now I want a new cell. With a camera. ::pouts::

Ooh, nice! You have lovely weather. It was raining awfully thick here yesterday. :(

Shoot.

I forgot to mention (since you were going to be in Pacific Grove) that if you visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium: my great uncle Gil cast their brasswork for it.

1140 Shell Avenue: so many happy memories. And if he were still alive, I'd've given you his number and sent you round, and you'd've had a blast, on the strength of our 'net acquaintenceship. That kind of man, that kind of household. I miss him so...
