Not Fun

My tooth hurts worse now than it did after the actual root canal! That makes no sense to me. Didn't get much sleep last night. Every time I'd start to fall asleep, my teeth would close together, resulting in shooting pain. Then I'd be wide awake again. I really hope it's not like this all weekend, or it's going to put a real damper on our out of town weekend.

I'm so grumpy right now.

Thanks. I knew it was going to hurt, but it never occurred to me it would hurt worse than the root canal itself. And I'd planned to have elk for dinner tomorrow night (the hotel we're at has it on the menu) but I can't chew it like this [pouts]

Maybe you should call the dentist, could it be you need to take an anti-biotic? Mine stopped hurting right off.

Supposedly, they've put medication in the actual holes. That was the whole purpose of the exercise. Hopefully, no oral antibiotics will be required since I'll most likely be allergic.

Coworkers girlfriend just had the same thing done and she says hers hurts more than the actual root canal did too.

I'm taking my prescription anti-inflammatory, the one of all the ones the doctor tested on me that I'm not allergic to. But it isn't doing a lot.

So I expect you will be self medicating this weekend with something like single malt or grey goose? Works for me.

Is it an upper or lower? Sometimes the nasal sinus adds to the pressure on the root (or whats left).

Yeah, I've had sinus=upper tooth pain before.

As for self medicating, it really does seem to work better when I hold something alchoholic over the tooth. But will probably just be wine :)
