We did go and I did enjoy it. Even Gwenyth Paltrow didn't annoy me like she usually does. And yes, we stayed through the credits, though not having any prior knowledge of the comic books, it meant nothing to me [g] But Nin explained in the car.


Is he being recruited into the XXX program next?

No recruited for the Avengers.

There is supposed to be a similar Tag at the end of the Hulk movie and RObert Downey JR has a cameo as ironman in that movie as well.

Marvel is setting all future movies (ones they own) in the same universe. That includes the upcoming Thor and Captain America and Avengers

Ok - now I get the joke. I thought you were confusing the Avengers with the Weapon X program that is being depicted in the next Wolverine Movie.

i got very excited because of the casting of Sam Jackson as Nick Fury. They'd been drawing the character to look like him for some time so very cool that he's signed on to play the role

Funny Gwenyth Paltrow annoyed me alot.

Or at least her character did, and the costuming for said character.

I always have a problem with 'normal' women in Marvel universe movies, because the originals were written in the 60s for the most part, so you get the secretary/girlfriend who can't do anything for herself, regardless of the fact that the story has been moved up to present time.

And those shoes she was wearing in the climactic action sequence, along with the tight skirt, should have made it impossible for her to run anywhere, let alone on a catwalk with lots of places for those ridiculous heels to have caught.

But she didn't know she would be running around a catwalk :) Most of the women I've worked with in the past have dressed similarly, so it didn't bother me. I actually had a lot of empathy for her character. And it wasn't anymore of a stretch than a guy building a high tech robot suit in a cave [g]

I know there are women who wear those kind of shoes, but I get bugged by costume stuff like that.

It's my personal pet-peeve for movies, and I know and admit to it. *g*

I guess I *should* be willing to suspend my disbelief about her shoes, just as I did for the Iron Man suit.

I also am generally annoyed by GP. But she was ok in Iron Man.

I about had a gasket for the stinger scene with Nick Fury -- omg! I never read The Avengers, Iron Man, etc., and spent most of my time with the X-Men and Fantastic Four and others, but there's so much crossover in the Marvel Universe it's hard not to be a little familiar with most of the characters.
