What Do They Mean?

I run a House M.D. email list with a 1000+ members, and Yahoo sends me admin notices whenever somone new joins. I see so many odd Yahoo IDs and emails, and there are times I wonder what the story is behind them. I'm perpetually curious about such things, it's a quirk of mine [g] I'd love to ask, but I'm sure I'd scare new members off, them thinking I'm stalker list owner chick. It's somewhat the same with LJ names -- I often wonder abut the less obvious ones.
