I got the Iron Man novelization in yesterday and read the first several chapters at lunch. Tony's power grows hourly!

I'm feeling a little poorly tonight, so I may just sit and read and save writing for tomorrow. Though Tony's really eager to tell Charlotte just how much he disapproves of her slacker boyfriend [g]

Anyone know, is Tony short for Anthony? The book always uses Tony Stark, even in the retrospective award thingie.

Should probably eat something.

I know a lot of folks named Tony (am related to half of them), and with every one of them, its an abbreviation of Anthony.

if you can tell me other names its short for, I'd love to hear them - I'd be grateful.

No, that's the point. Sometimes, people with an abbreviated name, that's their name! I work with a Dan. It's Dan, not Daniel. His legal given name is Dan. It's in not a nickname for Daniel. So Tony Stark's name could have been Tony, not Anthony with the nickname of Tony. Sometimes a Jim is Jim, not James. I am not saying Tony is short for anything but Anthony.

huh. interesting.

I confess I've heard of things like that (but they tend to have legally changed their names - it wasn't their name since birth)

sorry.
