I think in this day and age--i.e., of digital playback, the internet, and a larger group of obsessive fans--it would be hard to ignore canon on that grand a scale.

I have bits of theories floating around, but most of them involve Cosmic Reset Buttons. Which we've already used (twice), so part of me actually wants consequences. OTOH, David Tennant is my TV Boyfriend, so I'm reluctant to let him go.
