We had the urge to watch it last night after seeing some HGTV episode involving restoring an old house. It's such a pretty movie! I love seeing the Italian countryside, and it's one of those movies that leaves me smiling.

One of these days, Nin and I are going to take a trip there. It's on the list!

Just wanted to concurr that the movie is gorgeous and that Lindsay Duncan in the fountain is a scene that has to be seen to be believed.

I loved the film and really like the two books it's based on too - if you feel like taking a gander *g*

Oh, one of my faves too -- Italy is on my list as well. Just a note though - my cousin came back from two years studying there, and he emphatically said that you don't want to drive there. He claims they're all speed-crazy and don't obey any rules.

On the other hand, I can't imagine they could be any worse than the man I saw at lunchtime - 80 at least in a 40 mile zone, on a cell, eating a sandwich (don't ask me how he was steering!), no seatbelt and no turn signals every time he changed lanes - which was just about every half-block!).

AAACCKK!! A friend and I were just talking about this movie today!! I was telling her how Valentine almost turned the role down because he only had one word of dialogue!! But was talked into because he has alot of screen time!! I think I've watched this movie five times and may even watch again this weekend.

I was in the Navy for four years and they DO drive like mad psychopaths!!!! Road rules?? What the F--K are those!!

Val is most definitely lovely! I second that notion! And such a wonderful, warm, funny, polite, extremely talented and sweet man. It was an honor and a pleasure to meet him in Memphis. I'll never get over how perplexed he was that they wouldn't give him "proper" silverware at Rendezvous ( a famous rib joint in Memphis) known for their surly waitstaff!!!!!!
