Okay, I finally watched the 'Reunion' clip. And I think I'll leave it at that since I don't want to get all wound up again. I'll stick to fanfic, thank.you.very.much.

But speaking of fic.... strangevisitor7 told me she's writing a Methos-centric fic. Awesome possum! There's so little new fic with Methos in it. I can't wait!

It made me cringy. Like you want to watch it through your fingers. A plus, there was no porno music this time, though it would have fit better here than in the interview clip!

Amanda has only known Methos since Duncan's known him? Since when? I know it was unofficial canon that they knew each other from way back, it was just the scene that explained it was cut.

I love Amanda, I really do, but she was like a caricature of herself here. Where was the real Amanda? Not in that room. Though I really didn't see much of Methos there either, to be fair.

Methos is getting married, and Amanda has no curiosity about who, Methos doesn't talk about her, and the scene seems to imply they haven't seen each other for a while.

The whole thing just seemed... off kilter, I guess. If they had to do this, couldn't they have set it, I don't know, sitting around a beach fire with a bottle of wine and just reflecting on what's important to them? Not cheesy bedroom scenes with stripper poles. Can you actually imagine a scene like that in the series? The Amanda and Methos from Methuselahs Gift? Our Methos and Amanda? I miss those guys [sigh]

See? Wound up! But at least it's official: it isn't just the slash fans that have issues with the thing!

Very true. And I did want to know what you thought about it. It just didn't seem like our Methos and Amanda. It was simply Peter and Liz playing Methos and Amanda. Sad. Really sad.

On the other hand...maybe you all are jumping to conclusions that will color your opinion of the other parts. We've only seen a clip. How do we know everything is as "un-good" as you guys describe?

Since I won't pay the $20 bucks, I'll never know [g] And no, you aren't being contrary. Several people on my f'list really liked the clip :) I'm just a jaded old fangirl at this point, I'm afraid.

I think really liked it may be stretching it a bit :-P I liked it better than the crap we were served up in the Source (but that doesn't say much about it) and it did give me a few shippery screencaps to play around with, which I'm grateful for, but I definitely don't think it's up to the standards of the original series (Or Highlander, the Raven, which I've just finished watching and quite liked. Some of the episode plots were dodgy, but it's a bit darker than the original Highlander series and the character progression isn't as forced as I feared... and veering off course, now!)

But, anyway, you think twenty dollars is bad? Try doubling that, which is what I'd have to do if I paid for it to be shipped from the Highlander site (Amazon don't have it listed)

I think even Amanda would call that highway robbery!
