It's Air Show Weekend!

There's an F18 Raptor US Navy FA-18 SuperHornet here for it plus the Thunderbirds. The F 18 just went overhead. Dang!! I thought the jets the Thunderbirds use were noisy [g]

I love airshow weekend! I never go, but we're close enough to the bay, we get to see the jets overhead from Thursday on.

Used to catch an occasional Thunderbirds show. They tend to do yearly shows (well, maybe not always the T-birds, but "they" collectively in jet pilots, at the Minot Air Force Base. Been a long time since we went to one. DH is a small plane pilot, so that sort of schtuff has extra meaning for him.

The F/A-18 is a Hornet or Super Hornet, is known as the Devil with a Blue Dress when used by the Blue Angels and has been around forever.

The Raptor is the F-22 and is a new-bee.

Ah... fighter jets...

I got over seeing fighter jets when I lived on the base in England (Mom in Air Force)...

A-10s flying over my house, which was in the air path for the runway, pretty much stopped me from wanting to see planes overhead. Those things are loud!

Even though, I still think B-2 bombers are just... pretty!

Makes me wish I was in the crowd for the Rose Parade New Years Day a few years ago when a few of them flew over. I'm just glad I was able to see it on TV...

I adore B-2s... So much so, I rifled through the bins at the store across from Soaring over California for years until I found a model. Which I promptly bought, and is now sitting in my room... It just calls to me!

And, every time I visit, I look for more B-2 models, keychains, etc... I just adore this plane!

I'm tempted to get into model building just so I can build and paint a B-2. That, and WWII fighters... My dad got me interested in those.
