My new music find is Neko Case. I had one of her songs, 'Hold On, Hold On', and sought out her actual albums. Ended up getting 'Fox Confessor Brings the Flood' and I'm loving it in that repeat it over and over way [g] she has an amazing voice and some very dark and strange lyrics.

IN THE GLOW OF THE FURNITURE PILED HIGH FOR FIREWOOD
AND THE BLOOD RUNS CRAZY WITH GIANT STRIDES
AND THE WOODSMAN FAILED TO BREECH THOSE FANGS IN TIME
SO THEY DRAGGED HIM THROUGH THE UNDERBRUSH
WEARING THREE WINTER COATS AND A DIRTY KNIFE

As for fic, I mentioned yesterday that I'm wanting to write an alternate life story with Ezra. It's been a favourite genre both reading and writing, and one of the first things I ever posted on LJ was 'Broken Window', which was an alternate life Highlander fic set in the 24th century. It's also one of the stories I've written that I'm most fond of, for what that's worth. So 'Life on Mars' is in no way inspiring my desire to write the story [g] (I only saw two eps of it anyways) (the original one)

But be that as it may, I need to finish 'Too Young For Heaven' and 'I Am Going to The West' before I start anything new.

I discovered her via a fanmix Nin had. Nin thought I'd like Hold On so dropped it in my iTunes. Have you ever heard Brandi Carlile? She's another fave of mine and has a similar voice/style.

I'll add it to the list of stories to write one of these fine days [g] But yes, there does need to be more Ezra fic!

Brandi Carlile would be a no, now is on list to look up. Have you heard Meshell Ndegeocello? She reminds me of Tracy Chapman, only a lot edgier and more 20s-30s jazz.
