Freaking

I am totally phobic when it comes to spiders. Snakes? No problem. Spiders? I FREAK! So a few days ago, I come across a Black Widow in the garage. I'm just getting over that. Tonight, I go into my my mum's bathroom to get water for the kitties, and there's a freaking HUGE Black Widow on the side of the sink. I shrieked and ran. Nin washed it down the drain. With prejudice. My mum goes in two minutes later, and the damn thing has crawled back out. so she pushes it into a cup and flushes it down the toilet -- six times.

I am crawling right now. And I'm shaking.

The exterminator is scheduled for Monday and I am directing him to search and destroy!

I don't know if I can sleep now.

I sympathise as a fellow arachnophobe, but at least you have real poisonous bastards that deserve your fear. Over here we have nothing dangerous (unless it snuck in on a boatload of bananas) but I still gonzo when I see one. I have night terrors frequently that feature spiders, and they have me sleeping with the light on. *shudder* creepy little smeggers. I don't know how I'd react to a black widow, but I suspect it would involve moving faster than I've ever moved before and screaming loudly.


That average number of spiders thing is an urban myth, btw.
