When you send an LOC to an authour after reading a fic you really loved and the mail gets bounced back because the address no longer exists. Seems to happen an awful lot [pouts]

(Heather F., wherever you are, I really loved your story.) (Even though it made me sob!)

Yeah, it happens:(.
Can I ask what story? Since Heather F. is one of my favorite ATF M7 authors.....

It was called Sacrifices (http://flah0.tripod.com/m7folder/sacrifices/titlepage.html). It was an OW fic

Haven't read that one yet, need to fix this...

Really good story... Thanks for the rec!

I refuse to read that story a second time! Don't want to cry again :(

Oh and HeatherF is on LJ if you want to contact her through private message. She only writes in the SGA fandom now, which is a shame. She's one of the best writers out there.

It was a poor choice for me to read right before bed, I'm sure!

It was so good that just thinking about it makes me go awww ..... I would rather have Vin be shot than what happened!

Thank you, sweetie! I would actually. And to think I almost didn't post on the subject.

And while I have you here, may I introduce you to someone? She's on my f'list from the Peter Wingfield side [g] and turns out she's a bit Psyche fan and looking for fellow souls. Her name is [livejournal.com profile] soft2smooth2000 and here was the post (http://soft2smooth2000.livejournal.com/31147.html) where I discovered her love for the show. You'll see in the comments I offered to introduce her :)

*waves shyly* heya! (by way of the lovely [livejournal.com profile] ithildyn)

Ith is teh best, y/y? ^_^

I've been LJstalkingtaking a friendly look around your lj, and wow, totally love and appreciate your Lassiter-luurve. I feels it too. I also love how you've written Lassiter and Juliet-- I think they work very well as partners. :)

Also, teh Icons! and crazyoldlady!fic(which I had to mention separately), teh gratuitous gun p0rn! ^_^ Wonderful.

Hi! *waves even more shyly but with a huge grin*

Just so you know, I'm a Lassiter whore and proud of it! and OMG the gun porn!

Lassiter-luurve. I like that!

I love the Lassiter, O'Hara partnership and will no doubt write a lot of short fics with just the two of them. And I love writing Lassiter, he's such a hoot, and a hottie. A hoot hottie .... a hottie hoot ....

And I seem to have a thing about crazy old ladies. Something about them not seeming so much as a Mary Sue :)

Lassiter ate my lj!

he is very much a hoot hottie... hottie hoot.

*hoots!* ^_^

I love reading fics where Lassiter is fleshed out from more that the caricature-like characters we see(most of the time) in the show, yet where the writer/s are able to keep him distinctly... Lassiter-like. (er. if you see what I mean. *g*) Jules is someone who often gets sidelined in Fandom, and we totally need to see more partnership dynamics from these two. :) *luffs your fic*

sues/stus are to be avoided like the plague, and whilst I'm sure you'd be able to do so otherwise, using lecherous, crazhy ol' laydehs just add to the ★-factor, nevermind the comedy value. =)

last but not least of all: gun p0rn ftW!

Seems close to half the LOCs I sent get bounced back, and of the ones that don't I almost never hear from the authour, so I wonder if they end up in an abandoned account somewhere.

It could be worse. I remember sending an email praising a fanfic I'd read--only to have someone write back to tell me that the author had died some time ago. I hate that.

I've come across more than one story over the years where there was a not that the authour had passed away, but their relative would love to hear from you. Thankfully I have not had your experience. It did happen to me in RL though. Called my travel agent from the year prior only to discover she'd been murdered.
